By pooling resources through Care PAC (Political Action Committee), we in the nursing facility and assisted living profession can have an impact on the decisions made at the State Capitol, including those that affect salary and benefits, Medicaid reimbursement, operations, training and licensure, the working environment, and quality of care. Care PAC listens to your views about candidates in your district and contributes to those that support long term care, educates candidates about challenges faced by Care PAC members in their districts, and works for you by asking the tough questions on candidate views about issues affecting your job and/or facility. There are three ways to get involved:

PER BED
Proprietary member facilities are asked to contribute at least $2 per bed to Care PAC. Due to IRS and other restrictions, nonprofit and government facilities are unable to contribute facility funds to PACs. Employees of these facilities are asked to participate through individual contributions. Nonprofit facilities may participate in the Political Partner Program.

CONTRIBUTION LEVELS
Members can help strengthen our collective voice by contributing at any of the following levels:

  • President’s Circle:
    • Platinum President’s Circle: $5,000 or more
    • Gold President’s Circle: $2,500-$4,999
    • Silver President’s Circle: $1,000-$2,499
  • Capitol Club: $500-$999
  • Advocate Club: $200-$499
  • Leadership Club: $50-$199
  • Contributor Club: $10-$49

Contributions at one of these levels are requested from employees of member organizations (facilities, business or student members, corporate office staff, owners, etc.) or member organizations who wish to support Care PAC at a level greater than $2 per bed or members without licensed beds.

POLITICAL PARTNERS
NNFA/NALA member employee fundraising campaigns can be organized by a staff member or an administrator who appreciates this critical need. Facilities that participate in this program are Care PAC Political Partners. Have jeans day or donuts for those who give more than $1, or leave early on a Friday if you participate, or whatever might encourage participation. (Names and amounts must be collected from all participants.)

Contributions or gifts to Care PAC are non-refundable and not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. For more information about Care PAC or compliance with Accountability & Disclosure requirements, email nhca@nehca.org. View Terms & Conditions.
