Medication Aide Testing Eligibility

To be eligible for Medication Aide state testing, you must have completed one of the two options below:

1. A 40-hour Medication Aide course – you must indicate details of the course with your registration
2. Pandemic Medication Aide to Medication Aide – 40-Hour Transition program and received confirmation from the Nebraska Health Care Association (NHCA) of completion

The State of Nebraska requires submission of the Initial Application for Medication Aide Registration with $18 fee to the Department of Health and Human Services, completion of a 40-Hour Medication Aide class, and passing of the written exam to be placed on the registry.

Nurse Aide Testing Eligibility

To be eligible for Nurse Aide state testing, you must have completed one of the three options below:

1. A 76-hour nurse aide course
2. The Pandemic Nurse Aide to Nurse Aide Transition program and received confirmation from NHCA of completion
3. Have a lapsed Nebraska nurse aide license

The State of Nebraska requires completion of a 76-Hour Nurse Aide Class and passing both the written and clinical exams to be placed on the registry.

You will not be allowed to state test unless you meet eligibility criteria provided by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). Fees are not guaranteed to be refunded. Complete the necessary steps and register at a later date. For further questions, email: registrar@nehca.org
